On January 3rd, 2023, Crow Wing County passed a Short Term Rental (STR Licensing Ordinance requiring all property owners that operate a short term rental within the County’s Planning and Zoning jurisdiction and those cities or other local government units (LGUs) who have a contract with the County to regulate STRs in those areas, to obtain a license through the county beginning upon Board approval. Licenses are renewed each year in January, regardless of when prior year’s license was issued.
