Playground Project

Stay up to date on our exciting playground project!

All of our equipment is open and ready to be played on! However, we still have some work to do, so please bare with us while we complete that. We will be working on spreading more mulch (top dress), installing the new border and assembling the shade structure. There may be some equipment that will be blocked off throughout the next few weeks. Thanks for your patience!

Construction Updates:

5/5/22     Staff removed the old equipment.

5/11/22     Staff hauled fill to the future obstacle course site. 

5/23/22    Staff hauled in the remaining fill for the obstacle course bringing the site to adequate grade. 

5/31/22     The installers measured, marked and drilled the holes for the 2-5 equipment, swings, tree climber and merry-go-all.

6/1/22       Volunteers unpacked all of the equipment. Once that was complete they started to assemble the 2-5 equipment (Bison River), tree   climbers and swing set.     

6/3/22       Volunteers and Staff completed the assembly of the 2-5 year old equipment, swing set, tree climbers and merry-go-all.

6/4/22       The installers completed the refurbishment of the 5-12 year old equipment.

6/6/22       Volunteers and Staff completed the Mary Lu Dietz Obstacle Course.

6/7/22       Volunteers and Staff poured all of the concrete footings for all new structures.

6/8/22       Staff installed the new border around the Obstacle Course.

6/9/22       Staff stapled down the fabric in preparation for new mulch.

6/10/22      Volunteers and Staff spread out 140 cu./yds. of EWF mulch.

7/27/22      Staff ripped out the old border and started placing the new border.

7/29/22      Staff completed installing the new border.

8/16/22      Staff and volunteers assembled the shade feature.

9/24/22     Grand Opening!!!
